Technical Lead | TypeScript, Node.js & AWS | Software Engineering & DevOps | AWS | TypeScript | Hybrid (North West) | £65,000–£85,000

Are you a hands-on Technical Lead who enjoys balancing software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and architecture?

Do you enjoy mentoring engineers while still staying close to the code?

Would you like to play a key role in shaping the future of a business undergoing a significant technology transformation?

I'm currently partnered with a well-established and highly successful UK business that's investing heavily in its digital platforms, engineering capability, and technology strategy.

As part of that journey, they're looking to appoint a Technical Lead to become the most senior day-to-day technical individual within the business, providing leadership across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and systems integration.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join at a pivotal time, taking ownership of a modern technology estate while helping shape the next phase of growth.

The role

They're looking for a genuine hands-on technical leader who can operate across architecture, engineering, cloud infrastructure, and delivery while continuing to contribute to codebases, technical decision-making, and platform improvements.

This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and cloud infrastructure, with your work split between hands-on TypeScript/Node.js development and AWS/DevOps ownership.

You'll lead technical decision-making across several business-critical platforms whilst also owning cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, system integrations, and platform reliability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
