Role Description
Role: Technical Lead NextGen
Location: Sheffield, UK
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Rate: 65 GBP per hour Inside IR35
Responsibilities

Experience: 7 to 11 years
-
Own the technical solution architecture for the assigned IAM workstream
-
Define, maintain, and govern High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs)
-
Lead technical decision-making, architecture reviews, and technology selection activities
-
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and regulatory requirements
-
Drive adoption of Zero Trust and Identity-first architecture principles
-
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering teams
-
Review solution designs, application code, and infrastructure changes
-
Manage technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, and integration challenges
-
Coordinate technical activities across internal teams and third-party suppliers
-
Support planning, estimation, solution delivery, and implementation activities
-
Define and validate non-functional requirements including availability, resilience, performance, scalability, observability, and security
-
Ensure solutions are production-ready, supportable, and operationally compliant
-
Participate in architecture governance forums, design authorities, and technical steering committees

Promote engineering excellence, DevSecOps practices, and continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Security, Operations, and business stakeholders

- Strong technical leadership and solution architecture experience
- Experience delivering complex enterprise IAM solutions
- Knowledge of Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Experience with Authentication, Authorization, and Identity Lifecycle Management
- Understanding of Human Identity, Non-Human Identity, Agent Identity, and Workload Identity
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles
- Experience with Policy-as-Code and security governance practices
- Knowledge of Secrets Management and Certificate Lifecycle Management
- Experience securing APIs and implementing API Security controls
- Understanding of Event-Driven Architectures and Identity Integrations
- Knowledge of Cloud-Native Security and modern cloud platforms
- Experience with Observability, Monitoring, Logging, and Auditing solutions
- Strong understanding of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
- Experience with DevSecOps, Automation, and Production Readiness practices
- Strong Stakeholder Management, Communication, and Facilitation skills
- Experience working in regulated Financial Services environments
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams across Architecture, Engineering, Security, Operations, and external suppliers
