About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead - Software Engineering & Infrastructure to take ownership of a growing digital platform estate, cloud infrastructure, and systems integration environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical excellence with people leadership, guiding a small team of talented engineers while remaining actively involved in architecture, development, DevOps, cloud operations, and complex technical problem-solving. If you're passionate about building scalable platforms, improving engineering practices, and mentoring teams, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As Technical Lead, you'll act as the senior technical authority across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and production operations. You'll lead a team of four engineers while working closely with key business stakeholders and external technology partners. You'll play a central role in shaping technical strategy, driving platform reliability, improving engineering standards, and delivering technology solutions that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Software Engineers and a Solutions & Operations Engineer.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across software development, infrastructure, and DevOps.
  • Drive engineering best practices through coaching, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
  • Provide technical oversight and challenge to third-party development and integration partners.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
