Technical Lead / Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Solutions Architect to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise architecture solutions across a complex business systems environment.

Working within a large-scale organisation undergoing continued digital transformation, you will be responsible for defining architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between technology and business objectives, and providing technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of business-critical systems, applications, infrastructure services, and cloud-based platforms.

Alongside your architectural responsibilities, you will provide leadership and line management for a team of four technical specialists, supporting their development while driving the delivery of strategic technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale business systems and technology solutions.
  • Act as the principal technical authority for business applications, platforms, integrations, and supporting infrastructure across both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Develop architecture roadmaps that align technology investments with organisational objectives and digital transformation programmes.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and adaptable to evolving business requirements.
  • Define and maintain architecture standards, governance frameworks, policies, and technical documentation.
  • Review project and change initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic architecture principles and long-term technology goals.
  • Provide technical leadership across enterprise applications, identity services, security architecture, integrations, and infrastructure platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise systems, improve service delivery, reduce costs, and maximise value from technology investments.
  • Support the adoption of cloud, managed, and hosted services where appropriate.
  • Contribute to business cases, technology strategies, and operational planning activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure all solutions incorporate appropriate levels of security, performance, resilience, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Lead service transition, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior technology leaders, project teams, suppliers, and governance boards.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and line management for a team of four technical professionals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
