Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to appoint an experienced Technical Manager to join their leadership team in Grimsby.
This is an opportunity to take real ownership of food safety, quality and technical performance within an established food business. You’ll have the scope to challenge existing practices, develop capable teams and turn improvement opportunities into lasting results, while maintaining the high standards expected by customers, regulators and certification bodies.
The Opportunity:
As a Technical Manager you’ll play a key role in:
- Leading and continuously improving Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including HACCP, BRCGS and customer-specific standards.
- Developing and supporting Technical, Quality and Hygiene teams, creating an environment where people can contribute, grow and perform at their best.
- Driving practical continuous improvement across food safety, product quality, hygiene, waste, customer complaints and operational performance.
- Building trusted relationships with customers, auditors, regulatory bodies and suppliers, while providing clear technical leadership across the business.
- Leading technical risk management, supplier quality, internal auditing, traceability, allergen management, environmental monitoring and corrective and preventative action.

Your work will directly contribute to stronger food safety, consistent product quality, customer confidence and sustainable improvements across the operation.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
- Significant experience within food manufacturing or processing, with a strong understanding of technical, quality and food safety standards.
- Proven experience leading Technical, Quality and Hygiene functions, alongside the ability to develop people and build capability across wider teams.
- Extensive experience of BRCGS Grade A/A+ certification, retailer audits and working with major UK retailers or customer technical teams.
- Evidence of delivering meaningful business improvements through food safety, quality, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to make informed decisions, influence stakeholders and challenge established practices constructively.
Experience managing senior customer-facing technical relationships or leading large-scale change and continuous improvement projects would be valuable. However, we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every desirable criterion.

- £55,000 - £70,000 salary
