Technical Manager
Location: Devon
Salary: Up to £75,000 + £8,000 Relocation
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Reporting to: Head of Technical
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join a large, fast-paced food manufacturing site in Devon.
You’ll lead the site’s Quality teams, with direct reports including the Quality Manager and Quality Systems Manager, and oversight of the wider QA function.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing NPD projects from factory trial through to launch.
- Ensuring new production lines meet all technical, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Making decisions on out of specification stock, including release, rework, or rejection.
- Leading investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Driving food safety, quality, and technical standards across the site.
- Working closely with Production, NPD, and other key stakeholders.

About You
We’re looking for an established Technical Manager with extensive food manufacturing experience.
You’ll ideally have around 5 years’ experience at Technical Manager level, strong leadership experience, and a proven understanding of retailer requirements, food safety, and quality systems.

This is not a step-up opportunity; previous Technical Manager experience is essential. You’ll need to be confident operating in a large, busy factory and able to hit the ground running.
Products are supplied to major retailers including M&S, Tesco, Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Aldi, and Asda.
