Technical Manager
Our client is a leading manufacturer within the flooring sector, supplying innovative flooring solutions across a wide range of commercial and residential environments. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to provide expert technical support, training, and guidance to customers, installers, and internal stakeholders across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced flooring professional with strong technical knowledge of LVT and resilient flooring to join a market-leading organisation offering a varied mix of home, office, and field-based working.
Your new role
As Technical Manager, you will act as the technical expert for flooring products and installation practices, supporting customers, installers, and distribution partners with technical advice, site investigations, and training. You will play a key role in maintaining product quality standards, resolving installation issues, and supporting the development of future flooring solutions. This role offers a varied workload combining technical support, site inspections, training delivery, and collaboration with UK and international technical teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to customers, installers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Investigate product and installation-related issues, identifying root causes and recommending practical solutions.
- Conduct site visits to assess flooring performance and installation quality.
- Produce detailed technical reports and recommendations.
- Deliver technical and installation training to customers, installers, distributors, and colleagues.
- Support the development of technical documentation, installation guides, and training materials.
- Share technical knowledge and best practice across the business.
- Work closely with product development and technical teams on new product launches and initiatives.
- Collaborate with international technical specialists and contribute to technical forums and working groups.
- Provide UK market feedback to wider technical and product development teams.
- Ensure products and installations comply with relevant standards and industry best practice.

What you'll need to succeed
- Hands-on experience within the flooring industry.
- Excellent understanding of:
- Flooring installation best practice
- Subfloor preparation
- Moisture testing
- Adhesive selection and application
- Experience investigating and resolving technical flooring issues.
- Ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience producing professional technical reports.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Customer-focused and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload independently.
- Good Microsoft 365 skills including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Desirable:
- Industry-recognised flooring qualifications.
- Experience with laminate, wood, carpet tile, or sheet vinyl flooring.
- Previous technical support, quality assurance, or product support experience.
- Experience delivering installer or technical training.
- Knowledge of British Standards and flooring industry regulations.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus company vehicle.
