Technical Manager – Renewable Energy & Retrofit
Salary: £55,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead technical excellence across renewable energy and retrofit projects.
This is a senior role for a technically strong leader who can drive quality, compliance and continuous improvement — ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The Role
You will take ownership of the technical function, providing leadership across surveying, design, installation quality and compliance. You’ll act as the technical authority, supporting teams, resolving complex challenges and driving right-first-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical standards across renewable energy and retrofit installations
- Provide expert guidance to project teams, surveyors, installers and subcontractors
- Oversee compliance with PAS 2030/2035, MCS, TrustMark, Building Regulations and industry requirements
- Conduct technical audits, site inspections and quality reviews
- Review surveys, designs and installation methodologies
- Manage technical performance of installation teams and contractors
- Develop technical procedures, standards and improvement initiatives
- Mentor and develop technical teams while promoting a culture of quality and accountability

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Technical Manager or senior technical role within renewable energy, retrofit or construction
- Strong knowledge of renewable technologies and domestic retrofit
- Experience managing technical teams and subcontractors
- Excellent understanding of compliance, quality assurance and installation standards
- Strong problem-solving, leadership and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Experience
- MCS installation knowledge
- PAS 2030/2035 experience
- NICEIC, NAPIT or equivalent industry experience
- Social housing or funded retrofit programme delivery
- IOSH/NEBOSH or relevant technical qualifications
