Technical / Quality Technologist (with NPD Exposure)
Glasgow Area | Up to £40,000
Family‑Run Food Manufacturer
Protea Recruitment is delighted to support a long‑established, family‑run business in the Glasgow area. We’re looking for a Technical or Quality professional ready for their next step, with the chance to work across multiple departments and gain hands‑on NPD experience.
The Role
You’ll help maintain and improve site standards, support audits, manage specifications, and work closely with Production and NPD on product trials and improvements. This is a varied role offering real ownership and visibility across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the Quality Management System
- Assist with internal audits, GMP checks, and BRC compliance
- Manage specifications, artwork checks, and technical documentation
- Support investigations into non‑conformances and customer complaints
- Work with NPD on trials, product improvements, and new launches
- Assist with supplier approvals and raw material assessments
- Support HACCP and food safety activities across the site
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a Technical or Quality role within food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, allergens, and QMS
- BRC experience preferred
- Exposure to M&S technical requirements or retailer specs advantageous
- Confident communicator with strong attention to detail
- Interest in NPD and cross‑functional working
- Relevant food science or technical qualification beneficial
