Alchem Partners are excited to be engaged as the search partner to a privately owned chemical manufacturer and distributor, based in the Derbyshire area. They are a business whose focus is providing solutions to their customers, adding real value and inspiring innovation across the group.
Our Client's Opportunity
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Manager, during a period of change through growth including the introduction of new products and processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated customer-centric individual to join an established team, with the scope to make a real impact both internally and externally.
The successful applicant is commercially minded and will have a true passion for quality and sustainability and a hunger to make a real difference, within a customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with customers to develop new products and lead their introduction into production
- Working with engineering and production to develop both new processes and support the optimisation of current processes
- Provide support in the management of the Quality Management System
- Drive improvement in the commercial success of the products
- Lead the Technical function, ensuring coaching, support and mentoring of the team

Essential Criteria
- Degree in Chemistry or related scientific subject
- Significant experience at leadership level in a similar role, one with both technical and commercial responsibility
- Significant exposure to Wet Chemistry particularly in Inorganic Chemistry
- Proven experience managing technical projects and leading cross-functional teams
- Strong experience of process improvement, QMS and ISO systems
- Experience in Health and Safety Management where appropriate
- Project Management experience

Benefits
In return, our client is offering a salary of c£65,000pa negotiable, benefits including private healthcare, holidays, pension, etc.
