Technical Manager
An established business in the safe access and fall protection sector is seeking a Technical Manager to lead its technical capability and support the delivery of safe, compliant solutions.
The Role:
Provide technical leadership across permanent and temporary fall protection, façade access and safe access systems.
- Review and approve technical designs, methodologies, and engineering proposals.
- Develop practical solutions for bespoke projects and support installation teams with technical issues on site.
- Advise on inspections, testing, certification, and remediation of non-compliant systems.
- Interpret relevant legislation, British Standards, and industry guidance, keeping colleagues informed of changes.
- Review specifications and tender requirements, undertake site surveys, and attend customer and design meetings.
- Support System Technical Files, Examination Schemes, product development, and testing.
- Deliver technical training, mentor colleagues, and contribute to audits and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:
- At least five years’ experience in the work at height, fall protection, or façade access industry.
- Excellent understanding of fall protection design principles and product applications.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant standards, including BS 7883, BS 8610, BS EN 795, BS EN ISO 14122, BS 4211, BS EN 353, and BS EN 365.
- Sound knowledge of the Work at Height Regulations, CDM Regulations, and LOLER.
- Experience with System Technical Files and permanent and temporary fall protection systems.
- CAD experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to explain technical requirements clearly to customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- A full UK driving licence, willingness to travel nationally, and eligibility to work in the UK.
- NEBOSH, an Engineering degree or HNC/HND, experience producing engineering calculations, and a background in product development or testing would be advantageous.
