Company Description

At Potts' Partnership, we are a premium food brand producing a wider range of products from stocks, gravies, cooking sauces, condiments, marinades and more. We offer a wider range of packaging formats such as pouches, jars, bottles and most notably 100% recyclable aluminium cans. We supply a wide range of customers, such as supermarkets, independents, export and own-label products. We produce all of our products on our own BRC Grade A production facility in Swindon.

Role Description

The Technical Manager (Maternity Cover) is a full-time, on-site role based in Swindon, responsible for overseeing technical and quality aspects of product development and production. As Technical Manager you will be reporting to the Factory Manager and will be accountable for the technical and QA activities within the factory with responsibility for driving the technical agenda supported by a multi-disciplined team.

The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured by the Company meet safety, quality and legal requirements. This will be achieved by monitoring and maintaining the Company and the customer's quality assurance systems, food safety audits and HACCP.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide the site to comply with BRCGS requirements of Global Food Safety Standards.
  • Team leader of the HACCP team and carry out monthly meetings.
  • Manage the supplier review and approval process.
  • Manage raw materials approval process and review.
  • Review trends in product testing and environmental testing.
  • Manage, review and support technical team staff.
  • Liaise with the food safety consultant, scheduling internal audits and closing any non-conformances.
  • Manage compliance with hygiene and site inspections.
  • Liaise with NPD, Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure products are produced with the expected standard in food safety and quality.
  • Customer complaint management and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure SEDEX accreditation is up to date and the company is compliant.
  • Enhance the food safety and quality culture throughout the site.
  • QMS management and document control.
  • External audit lead for industry and customer audits.
  • Ensure all labels are compliant.
  • Ensure all exported product is compliant for all shipping and destination countries, including maintaining FDA registration and compliance and completing any SID forms and technical requirements.
  • Ensure all products have complete and up-to-date specifications.
