Technical Manager – Building Safety Remediation

Location

Remote (South East England) - Sites across the Home Counties

Salary

£85,000 + Car/Allowance + Benefits

About the Role

Our client, a national housebuilder, is looking for a Technical Manager to lead building safety remediation across a number of schemes within their own existing portfolio in the South East. This role sits within the wider response to the Building Safety Act, managing remediation works (including cladding and fire safety remediation) on legacy developments to bring them into compliance with current Building Safety Regulator requirements.

This is a remote-based role, but you'll need to be commutable to sites across the Home Counties, with travel expected. You'll take ownership of the technical delivery of remediation works across a defined group of schemes working closely with fire engineers, principal designers, contractors, and the Building Safety Regulator to bring each building through to compliance and sign-off.

This is a senior, largely autonomous role suited to someone who understands the complexity, sensitivity, and regulatory scrutiny that comes with remediation work under the current building safety regime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery of building safety remediation works across a portfolio of existing developments in the South East
  • Manage the Building Safety Case process for relevant higher-risk buildings, including liaison with the Building Safety Regulator
  • Appoint and manage external consultants - fire engineers, principal designers, structural engineers, and specialist remediation contractors
  • Oversee remediation design packages (cladding replacement, fire safety works, compartmentation, structural remediation) ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations and BSA requirements
  • Manage the Gateway process where applicable, and support golden thread/building safety documentation requirements
  • Act as key technical liaison with residents, freeholders, managing agents, and statutory bodies throughout remediation works
  • Report into senior leadership on technical risk, remediation programme, and cost across the portfolio
  • Support funding applications (e.g. Building Safety Fund/Cladding Safety Scheme) where relevant to individual schemes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
