TECHNICAL MANAGER

Sidcup | £50,000 - £55,000 DOE | Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Fresh Produce Technical experts — this one’s for you!

Are you a Technical professional with a passion for fresh produce who knows your BRCGS from your GAP analysis and your HACCP from your customer platforms?

We’re looking for an experienced Fresh Produce Technical professional to join a busy technical team in Sidcup, working closely with the Head of Technical across customer, site and supplier-facing technical activity.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, covering everything from specifications and complaints through to audits, HACCP, technical systems and customer requirements.

What will you be getting stuck into?

CUSTOMER & SUPPLIER TECHNICAL

  • Manage product and customer specifications and technical platforms
  • Handle complaints, rejections, investigations and non-conformances
  • Support supplier approval, due diligence and temporary specification management
  • Approve labels and packed-at-source products
  • Liaise with technical teams at source and visit suppliers when required
  • Visit third-party packing facilities and support benchmarking/GAP analysis
  • Work closely with commercial, procurement and customer teams

SITE TECHNICAL

  • Maintain policies, procedures and technical documentation
  • Lead internal GMP audits and manage corrective actions
  • Support BRCGS, Red Tractor and LEAF compliance
  • Host third-party audits
  • Lead the site's HACCP Team
  • Coordinate technical training and maintain training records
  • Prepare and analyse data for monthly SMM meetings
  • Help drive a strong food safety culture throughout the business

What are we looking for?

You’ll need solid Fresh Produce experience — fruit & veg is essential — along with a strong technical foundation covering:

You’ll also be organised, methodical and confident working at pace, with strong IT skills across Microsoft Office.

Spanish language skills would be a bonus, and a full driving licence is essential.
