Technical Manager
Full-Time, Monday - Friday | Senior role | Competitive Salary + Benefits.
We're looking for a senior Technical Manager to act as management representative for our Integrated Management System — safeguarding UKAS accreditation, maintaining ISO 9001, 17020, 17025, 45001 and 14001 compliance, and driving a company-wide culture of quality and technical excellence. You'll report directly to Director and hold real influence over how we operate.
CCP (or equivalent) essential. Senior experience in IMS management and UKAS accreditation required.

The Role
As Technical Manager, you'll act as management representative for our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring the requirements of ISO/IEC 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 are not just maintained - but embedded across the business. Reporting directly to the Technical and Quality Director, you'll hold senior responsibility for:
Strategic & Governance
- Shaping, managing and monitoring the Company Compliance Plan, aligned to ACE's strategic objectives
- Maintaining the Register of Regulatory Compliance and ensuring adherence company-wide
- Reporting to Directors on a routine basis, with full review reports at the Annual Review Meeting
- Chairing internal and external meetings to ensure technical and quality matters are properly addressed, reported and communicated
Accreditations & Assurance
- Safeguarding UKAS accreditation and demonstrating company competence, impartiality and performance capability
- Devising, maintaining and delivering an audit and inspection programme covering all technical and quality aspects of company procedures
- Attending and accompanying external auditors during assessments, and completing external assessment questionnaires as dictated by the Compliance Plan
- Managing non-conformance with environmental regulations or EMS requirements, tracking corrective action through to satisfactory completion
- Monitoring deficiencies in the IMS and responding to trends in non-compliance

Leadership & Development
- Overseeing and advising the Quality Systems Manager and Company Auditors
- Coordinating and designing training, including refresher training as required
- Providing professional quality and technical advice, guidance and support across the business
- Ensuring core technical procedure documents are maintained and that personnel are informed of revisions
- Assuming overall responsibility for ensuring complaints are dealt with and resolved without prejudice
- Keeping up to date with current safety, health, environment, quality and technical developments to ensure best practice.
What You'll Need:
- CCP qualification or acceptable equivalent (minimum)
- Assessment and technical auditing qualifications commensurate with the responsibility undertaken
- Deep working knowledge of ISO/IEC 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Proven experience maintaining UKAS accreditation and managing an IMS
- A track record of influencing at senior level and driving a quality culture
- Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
