Technical Manager - Supply Chain Approval, Quality and Compliance
Location: Estate Road, Grimsby
Schedule: Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00, some flexibility and occasional travel might be required
Salary: Competitive
Purpose of the Role
To set the compliance via the Hilton Seafood Standard, across all applicable supply chains ensuring that Hilton Seafood, customer and legal requirements are fully implemented.
To ensure all new Technical IT systems are value adding, rolled out in full across the two sites and supported with training and competency training packages as applicable.
To be a point of contact both internally and externally for all supply base management, conformance and approval. Covering both new and existing suppliers.
To manage the Raw materials teams both across Estate Road 2 and Laforey Road and all processes associated within these remits
Responsibilities
- To coach across the Production teams on both Food Safety and Legality and competency assess the effectiveness of this training, capturing all the detail in an auditable document with linked risk assessments as applicable.
- To coach the QA's /RMQA's on both food safety and legality and competency assess the effectiveness of this training, capturing the detail within an auditable document with linked risk assessments as applicable.
- To be the SME (Subject Matter Expert), for Foods Connected. Training and supporting the Buying, Technical, Packaging and NPD teams as applicable. To ensure the system is both understood and fully initiated.
- To be a point of (Technical) contact for all new suppliers, ensuring the on-boarding process is completed in full and to a fully auditable standard within Foods Connected, mirrored across the site(s) risk assessments.
- To ensure a robust and repeatable risk assessment process is in place for all new ingredients and fish and/or for changes to existing suppliers/ingredients/fish.
- To conduct horizon scanning for both existing and emerging threats across the supply bases. Communicating internally, to the Hilton Group, and any applicable customers as required, to ensure all identified risks are documented and where possible mitigated.
- To link the above to the management of Hilton Seafood's VACCP plan ensuring a robust documented system exists that supports on going trade, linking mitigation against emerging threats across CSR, ethical and authenticity.
- To visit and conduct audits across the supply base to support the continued development of both current and new suppliers into Hilton Seafood.
- To deputise for the European Technical Director Seafood and Added Value, across the Seafood sites ONLY during periods of absence
- Work within the Health and safety framework of the site, actively promoting a culture of safety.
- Ability to travel to retailer head offices and conduct other forms of travel to fulfil business needs.

Requirements
- Proven track record for developing, leading and motivating individuals, hence is a respected SME across their field.
- Actively draws on this experience to drive the department and the supply base forward.
- Experience in supplier scorecards and supplier management systems, both implementation and development that demonstrates continuous improvement.
- Broad experience gained working with the major retailers and a trusted and earnt reputation for absolute integrity
- Ability to simultaneously manage numerous projects and workstreams across several geography's and time zones
