Technical Motor Supervisor – Manchester – Hybrid - Up to £55,000
A leading national law firm is seeking a Technical Supervisor to join its Motor Recoveries Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional to combine a hands-on caseload with a technical leadership role, supporting the development of fee earners and driving high standards of technical quality across the team.
As a Technical Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Technical Manager, Team Leaders and senior stakeholders to support technical performance, enhance quality and ensure the team consistently meets client expectations, SLAs and KPIs.
Alongside managing a caseload of Small Claims Track litigated matters, you’ll play a key role in coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues across the department, helping to embed best practice and strengthen technical capability.
The Role
- Managing a small caseload of Small Claims Track litigated motor recovery claims
- Supervising and mentoring fee earners to strengthen technical capability and support performance
- Supporting the Technical Manager in embedding best practice and maintaining the Recoveries Quality Framework
- Working closely with Team Leaders and senior stakeholders to ensure client SLAs, KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved
- Identifying technical training needs and delivering coaching, mentoring and onboarding support
- Supporting new starters through the competency framework, with the aim of achieving financial authority within six months
- Monitoring workflows and identifying technical risks, emerging trends and opportunities to improve quality and efficiency

The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer or equivalent with the appropriate practice rights
- Proven litigation experience, ideally within motor recoveries, although claimant or defendant experience will be considered
- Previous experience managing your own litigated caseload
- Strong understanding of the claims process, litigation strategy and client service requirements
- Experience supervising, mentoring or training colleagues
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach with the confidence to identify and drive improvements in technical quality
