You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

About the Role:
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Officer to join our Highways Asset Intelligence Team. This varied role offers the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge while supporting the management of vital highway asset information that helps keep Central Bedfordshire moving.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be confident dealing with customers, councillors and stakeholders both verbally and in writing. You will have excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, particularly when handling enquiries relating to highway records and legal information.
In this varied role, you will respond to enquiries relating to highways searches, highway extents and highway assets, providing accurate and timely information to customers and internal colleagues. You will support the wider Asset Intelligence Team with a range of technical and administrative functions, including responding to Land Charges highway search enquiries, maintaining highway asset records and assisting with data analysis and project work as required. Good computer literacy skills are essential, and experience of working with mapping, data management or asset information systems would be advantageous, although training will be provided.

This position will be based at Priory House in Shefford, although flexible working allows for hybrid working and working from other council offices. This is an exciting time to work in the council’s Highways Service. We are able to offer training and development opportunities and the chance to learn and progress.
