Technical Operations Engineer

Location: Hybrid / London, UK
Minimum 2-3 days a week in the office in London

Contract: Full Time 1 Year Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Compensation: £43-£48,000 depending on skills and experience

A leading global provider of cloud-based image/video management for end-point outcome measures in clinical trials.

With over 20 years’ experience in handling large video files, ChilliPharm provides end-to-end video solutions for patient assessments in Clinical Trials.

Utilising their intuitive software, user-friendly filming kits, and facial redaction services, ChilliPharm enables clinicians, investigators, and sponsors to record, share, review, and submit video assessments to regulatory bodies securely and compliantly.

About the Job

We are currently seeking a highly motivated TechOps Engineer to join us on a 1 year full-time, fixed-term contract as maternity cover. This is a hybrid role, where you will be required to attend the office a minimum of 2-3 days per week.

As a TechOps Engineer, you will maintain and develop our core IT systems, build internal automation, and improve overall system reliability. Your work ensures our systems stay secure, scalable, and easy for employees to navigate. This role also plays an important part in our company by providing customer-facing technical support to internal employees and external clients.

As a highly customer-focused role, you will have a unique opportunity to join a growing IT team, work extensively with the entire Apple technology stack, and gain hands-on experience with industry-leading SaaS tools.

You will work closely with the Head of Technical Operations and Project Managers, implementing the best practices in IT Service and Systems, as you develop within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support & Incident Management: Provide comprehensive end-user support, resolve technical issues (Tier 1-3) for hardware and software, and manage ticketing workflows within SLAs.
  • Infrastructure & System Operations: Manage endpoint configurations, fleet-wide patching, identity workflows, and system monitoring, while automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement & Client Enablement: Develop self-service documentation, analyse ticket trends, and create training resources to improve product adoption and process efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Partner cross-functionally to investigate issues and ensure all IT activities consistently align with internal quality standards and business requirements.
  • SaaS Administration: Proven capability in managing enterprise software platforms, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and identity management solutions such as Okta and Entra ID.

Professional Skills & Background

  • Domain Expertise: 3–5 years in IT engineering and systems administration. Strong scripting skills, hands-on experience and capability in administering SaaS technologies (including Google Workspace, Slack, Jira), Identity Providers (IdP), MDM, collaboration, and productivity tools.
  • Support & Problem Solving: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently, manage IT ticketing workflows, and escalate complex problems appropriately. Strong foundation in hardware, software, and OS troubleshooting.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and empathetically to diverse users, facilitating effective problem-solving and user empowerment.
  • Core Competencies: Collaborative team player with strong analytical, time-management, and prioritisation skills.
