Technical Operations Engineer
We’re hiring a Technical Operations Engineer for a fast-growing fintech product company building a modern AI-enabled platform used by major retailers and financial institutions.
This is not a traditional production support role. We’re looking for a technically strong engineer who enjoys getting under the hood of complex systems; investigating production issues, debugging code, identifying root causes, and implementing permanent fixes.
You’ll work closely with Software Engineering and Infrastructure, using AI and modern engineering tooling to improve how issues are diagnosed, resolved, and prevented.
What You'll Do
- Investigate and resolve complex issues across live production systems.
- Debug application code and distributed systems to identify root causes.
- Own technical resolution of high-priority incidents and implement permanent fixes.
- Contribute directly to the codebase, including fixes, improvements, and smaller product features.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate debugging, investigation, and problem-solving.
- Improve platform reliability, resilience, performance, and maintainability.
- Use logs, metrics, and observability tooling to diagnose issues and understand system behavior.
- Work closely with Software Engineering and Infrastructure teams.
- Support and share technical knowledge with other engineers.
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota as part of a global follow-the-sun model.

What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' experience in a hands-on technical engineering role across Software Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Platform, Sustaining, or highly technical Application/Production Engineering.
- Strong coding and debugging skills using an object-oriented programming (backend) - Golang or Java preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across complex production environments.
- Experience with distributed and event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of logs, metrics, monitoring, and observability.
- An AI-first mindset; you’re someone who is actively using AI tools within your engineering workflow and interested in finding new ways to apply AI to technical operations.
- Experience with tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, AppDynamics, or similar.
- Exposure to technologies such as NATS, JetStream, Redis, or similar would be advantageous.
- Strong root-cause analysis skills and a focus on implementing long-term technical solutions rather than workarounds.
- Comfortable working across application, platform, and infrastructure layers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience within fintech, payments, financial services, or another high-availability/regulated environment would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
The role operates during standard Monday-Friday business hours, with participation in a compensated out-of-hours on-call rotation.
Office-based role.
