Are you an experienced Data Centre Engineering professional with proven Lifecycle Replacement experience?
We are looking for a technically strong Technical Operations & Lifecycle Replacement Manager to take ownership of critical infrastructure lifecycle strategy and the delivery of complex replacement and upgrade programmes across live mission-critical environments.
This is not a traditional Project Manager role.
We are looking for someone who understands how critical infrastructure operates, can identify asset degradation, obsolescence and operational risk, build the business case for investment and then take ownership of the replacement programme through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational handover.
The Role
You will lead the Lifecycle Replacement Programme (LCRP) across critical M&E infrastructure, developing risk-based investment plans and delivering technically complex projects while keeping live data centre operations protected.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning and developing the Lifecycle Replacement Programme, priorities, budgets and multi-year investment strategy.
- Conducting asset condition, criticality, obsolescence and operational risk assessments.
- Developing business cases, CAPEX requirements and investment recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Delivering complex M&E replacement and upgrade projects within live data centres.
- Managing infrastructure including HV/LV, UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling, BMS/EPMS, controls and associated critical systems.
- Developing outage, isolation, temporary plant, contingency and rollback strategies.
- Managing consultants, contractors, OEMs and specialist suppliers from scope development through to completion.
- Controlling cost, programme, change, risk and procurement.
- Ensuring FAT, SAT, commissioning, IST and operational readiness requirements are achieved.
- Driving effective handover into Operations, including asset information, drawings, O&M documentation, training, spares and maintenance requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for energy efficiency, whole-life cost reduction and improved infrastructure resilience.

What We're Looking For
Demonstrable Lifecycle Replacement experience is essential.
You will need a strong track record of developing and delivering asset lifecycle / replacement programmes within data centres or another highly critical engineering environment.
You should also have:
- 5+ years' experience within Data Centre Engineering, Technical Operations, Asset Management, Lifecycle Replacement or Capital Projects.
- Proven experience replacing or upgrading complex M&E infrastructure in live operational environments.
- Strong understanding of critical electrical and mechanical systems and resilience principles.
- Experience developing condition-based investment plans, CAPEX budgets and business cases.
- Strong commercial and procurement capability, including tendering, contractor management, cost forecasting and change control.
- Experience managing projects from definition and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- The technical credibility to challenge consultants, contractors and OEMs.
- Excellent stakeholder and executive-level communication skills.
- An engineering qualification such as HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent is desirable, along with project/programme management or asset management qualifications.
