Job Title: Technical Operator

Location: Rugby, CV21 1HA
Job Length: Permanent
Working Hours: 42 hours contract. Working 12 hour shifts, on a days and nights rotating 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. 4 x days (7am to 7pm), 4 x off, 4 x nights (7pm to 7am), 4 x off.

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

About the Role

Join Carlsberg Britvic as a Technical Operator and play a key role in producing the ingredients that help create some of the UK's most iconic drinks brands. This is a varied role where you'll oversee manufacturing processes, manage raw materials, maintain high quality and food safety standards, and support continuous improvement across the operation. An opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with systems and data, and improving day-to-day operations in a manufacturing environment while developing their technical skills and knowledge.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Operate and control manufacturing processes to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate production of syrups and ingredients required for production.
  • Manage the preparation, handling and control of raw materials, ensuring compliance with quality, food safety and operational standards.
  • Support production plans by working closely with Raw Materials, and Production teams to ensure materials and product are available when needed.
  • Complete quality checks and inspections, escalating any issues and ensuring products meet required specifications.
  • Use SAP and other business systems to manage inventory, product traceability and stock control activities.
  • Operating powered pallet trucks where required, carrying out pre-use safety checks and inspections.
  • Support continuous improvement activities, supporting Zero Loss, 5S and operational excellence initiatives across the department.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and workplace safety within all manufacturing areas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to improvement projects while supporting the development of colleagues and sharing best practice.

Experience and Key Attributes:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Understanding of health & safety, quality and food safety requirements within an operational setting.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage priorities and deliver results.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments.
  • Versatile and responsive, with the ability to collaborate across various production areas and adjust to evolving business needs.
  • Careful attention to detail and ease working with numbers, inventory control, and production data.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, demonstrating a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, learning and operational excellence.
