About Your Role
The purpose of this position is:
- To ensure effective operation and efficient utilization of designated machines by providing frontline defense against minor losses.
- Supporting production management.
- Leading continuous improvement activities.
- Maintaining machines at basic operating conditions for optimal performance.
What You’ll Do
- Operate and maintain designated machines to achieve high performance and availability.
- Identify and resolve causes of minor stops and start-up issues during changeovers.
- Lead and support Kaizen continuous improvement activities and the Infinite Loop process.
- Train and coach new operators on machine operation, changeovers, and standard settings.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and GMP standards within the operating area.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and management to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain machines at basic operating conditions to maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Balancing rapid response to production issues with maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical problems during changeovers and start-ups under time pressure.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives while managing daily operational demands.
- Coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure seamless machine performance.
- Training and developing operators with varying skill levels to maintain consistent standards.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions for machine performance losses.

What You Need to Be Successful
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics at grades A-C.
- Strong technical expertise in machine operation and changeovers.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve minor faults and abnormal operations.
- Knowledge of GMP and quality standards.
- Competency in root cause analysis techniques (5Ys & 4Ms).
- Good communication and coaching skills.
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Desirable
- Experience with SAP business processes.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and maintenance tasks.
- Previous involvement in Kaizen or continuous improvement projects.
- Ability to perform basic engineering tasks and support overhaul programs.
