Technical Operator/Manufacturing Line Lead

Role: Full-time, permanent
Location: Fawdon, Newcastle
Shift: 6am -2.15pm, 2pm-10.15pm on weekly rotation
Salary: Competitive plus shift allowance plus bonus plus benefits

The Role:

  • Lead and operate Manufacturing and Packing lines/processes.
  • Prepare area with effective use of time and resources to maximise production efficiency in line with cGMP compliance.
  • Responsible for the taking and sign off of BMR and BPR requirements for files samples.
  • Responsible for the line handovers and sign off ensuring cGMP standards are adhered to.
  • Aware and perform any adjustments that may be required during the production run to ensure OEE and productivity targets are met. Understand and comply with escalation procedures.
  • Responsible for line clearance checks and completion of line log books.
  • Understand and report KPI indicators for the relevant area.
  • Troubleshoot more complex problems and liaise with own and other departments to resolve issues successfully.
  • Assessing plan to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Help cover Team Leader role during absence and/or any reasonable supervisory/managerial tasks as requested.
  • Be main point of contact for any out of core hours working, if highest graded person on site.
  • Has detailed knowledge of own functional area.
  • Has technical expertise and specialist skills, provides advice and support to others in own area.
  • Supports continuous improvement process and ensures successful implementation of agreed changes.
  • May act as a departmental representative in meetings.

The Person

  • Works within established processes and procedures with the knowledge to use reasonable initiative within the team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate issues to other departments and line manager as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of their area and how it interacts successfully with other functions.
  • Develop skill base across a number of areas and specialist expertise relevant to functions.
  • Experience of working within a busy time sensitive environment, working under pressure whilst effectively prioritising workloads.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes.
  • Able to effectively and compliantly review, amend and draft SOP’s/RA’s/training modules/etc.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Good team player with open communicative style.
  • Ability to direct, train and motivate designated team.
