Role: Technical Partner
Composition Authoring & API Design
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade Composite Resource Definitions (XRDs) and Compositions across multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Write and maintain custom Composition Functions (Go or Python) to handle complex logic, validation, and dynamic resource generation.
- Establish standard API conventions, schema validation, and lifecycle management patterns across all platform claims and Composite Resources (XRs).
- Lead migrations from legacy Crossplane patterns (e.g., claims/XRD v1 structures) to modern namespace-scoped XRs and composition pipelines (v2+ standards).

Control Plane Architecture & Governance
- Architect resilient, scalable, and multi-tenant Crossplane control plane topologies (e.g., control plane per region/cloud, Crossplane Spaces, or dedicated control plane clusters).
- Define security baseline controls, IAM mapping, secrets management, drift detection, and automated backup/disaster recovery mechanisms for control planes.
- Establish delete protection, resource locks, and policy enforcement mechanisms to prevent accidental infrastructure destruction.
- Evaluate and optimize Crossplane provider performance, managed resource reconciliation loops, and memory/CPU footprint across clusters.

Best Practices, Standards & Enablement
- Establish "Golden Path" blueprints and templates for product and feature engineering teams to consume infrastructure self-service.
- Conduct code and design reviews for custom providers, compositions, and Kubernetes operators created across the organization.
- Upskill platform engineers and developers on Crossplane debugging, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Partner with cloud security and operations teams to align infrastructure provisioning with firmwide compliance and audit requirements.
