As a student, you will have hands-on experience from day one, while gaining practical insights into the corporate operations of a world-class automotive manufacturer. Each year we offer internship opportunities and are keen to hear from you if you are currently studying an undergraduate degree and looking to complete a 12.5-month placement.
Role Overview
Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood, Technical Planning, Interior Trim Centre – Placement Year (July 2027)
Our team consists of three separate areas of focus: Series Planning - “Creating a robust core production”, Structure Planning - “Shaping the future production system” and Project Planning - “Developing future products”. We report into the Interior Trim Centre and are responsible for the production of all interior trim products within the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars marque. The department use core lean principles to develop the most efficient way of producing products without impact to our exceptional quality. The department influences the business through strategical decisions, coaching and communication. We are seeking two placement year students to join in July 2027.

Responsibilities
- Manufacturing feasibility and realisation of design and engineering requirements within the concept development process
- Working in project teams on set deliverables
- Manage the introduction of new materials and processes
- Support the integration of new models into series manufacturing structures
- Establishing a Lean Manufacturing Environment, applying the company’s own VPS / CIP principles to reduce the 7 Wastes of Lean Manufacturing.
- Identification, procurement and installation of specialised tooling and key equipment including structures.
- Scenario planning to create the future production system considering all relevant planning premises from strategical analysis of future volume demands.
Requirements
- Studying a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant course.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English; working knowledge of German would be beneficial.
- Excellent team spirit and communication skills.
- Autodidactic ability of learning new methods and software applications.
