Job Description
As a Technical Platform Manager at the PRI, you will be responsible for the hands-on technical design, implementation and ongoing evolution of our product technology platform ecosystem. This is a technical delivery role reporting to the Interim CTO, focused on ensuring the platform is well architected, scalable, secure, integrated and fit for purpose. You will work closely with our product teams, internal IT teams and external delivery partners to translate business and product needs into robust technical solutions, covering architecture, system design, API connectivity, web technologies, database technologies, infrastructure requirements, capacity planning and implementation oversight.
The role will provide practical technical leadership across platform delivery and change, working directly with product owners, data teams, infrastructure specialists, Salesforce and application team colleagues, security colleagues, vendors and other technology stakeholders. The postholder will be expected to contribute their own technical expertise to design decisions, implementation activity, troubleshooting and platform improvement, ensuring decisions are coherent, sustainable and aligned with PRI’s wider technology ecosystem.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of PRI's product technology platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned with agreed business and product outcomes.
- Define and maintain the platform architecture, including system components, data flows, integrations, environments and technical dependencies, ensuring alignment with PRI's enterprise architecture and technology standards.
- Translate business and product requirements into technical designs, specifications and implementation plans, providing hands-on configuration, build and technical leadership where required.
- Assess infrastructure and non-functional requirements, including performance, capacity, availability, scalability, security, accessibility, monitoring, resilience, backup, recovery and supportability.
- Lead technical delivery across internal teams, vendors and partners, ensuring solutions are implemented consistently, effectively and to the required quality.
- Support technical discovery, options analysis and build-versus-buy decisions, providing recommendations on feasibility, risk, cost, complexity and long-term maintainability.
- Design and oversee integrations, APIs and data exchange between the platform and related technologies including Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Azure, identity management, data and reporting platforms, databases and web technologies.
- Work with security, infrastructure and data teams to ensure appropriate controls for identity management, access, data protection, monitoring and operational support.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, design principles and documentation to ensure platform changes remain controlled, supportable and sustainable.
- Monitor platform performance, risks and issues, using operational insight to drive continuous improvement and optimisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
