Job title: Technical Pre-Sales Senior Engineer

Position: Full-time, Permanent

Functional area: Technical

Reporting to: Technical Sales Manager

Location: United Kingdom, Stockley Park, Uxbridge

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am – 5pm (35 hours per week, 1 hour lunch break)

Job summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Pre-Sales Senior Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical support and expertise to our distributors and business partners across the UK and Europe. This role involves working with air conditioning systems (A/C systems) and cooperating with technical, sales, and marketing teams as well as MHI's design department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to European distributors:

    • Assist reactively European distributors and business partners throughout Europe.
    • Respond to pre-sales enquiries and collaborate with the team.
    • Visit distributors and business partners' offices to respond to their requests.
  • Survey the market for new Air Conditioning products:

    • Communicate closely with European distributors to evaluate each market's needs.
    • Visit exhibitions to research new products, market information, and regulations/directives.
    • Participate in seminars/meetings on products and sales support software.
    • Benchmark competitors’ products/sales support software and make comparisons.

  • Support new product development for European market:

    • Support European product development with MHI design centre and sales team.
    • Review and improve technical and service manuals for European market.
    • Support joint development of MHI product products/options with European experts.
  • Project coordination with partner companies:

    • Lead design directions of projects.
    • Cooperate with partners to develop new products.
    • Support joint development with European manufacturers.
  • Promote MHI new air conditioning products:

    • Prepare, in collaboration with MHI design section, presentations on new products.
    • Introduce and promote new products highlighting key features and benefits.
    • Provide specific training highlighting advanced features and technical benefits.
    • Support the marketing department in creating new promotional materials.
  • Develop new and existing sales support software:

    • Compare competitors' sales support software and collect market needs.
    • Create and update regularly functional specifications for sales support tools.
    • Collaborate with software providers to develop and improve sales support tools.
    • Manage software development projects to meet deadlines and budget.
    • Develop software and tools (in-house) to help promote new products.
  • Execute certification programmes and regulatory activities:

    • Survey requirements for national subsidies, certification programmes, regulations, and standards.
    • Register MHI products to relevant schemes and programmes and keep them up to date.
    • Attend Eurovent tests remotely and/or in person.

Qualification:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in A/C or Chiller manufacturer is strongly desired.
  • Software development skill is desired.

Experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • Technical experience in air conditioning for commercial applications (at least 10 years).
  • Experience and knowledge in A/C systems, controllers, building management system.
  • Experience and knowledge in sales support software for air conditioners.
  • Knowledge in UK and EU regulations/directives related to air conditioners.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prepare and make presentations for promotion or reporting.
  • Analyse operation data of products.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills:

  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Customer interaction skills.
  • Open-minded and able to collaborate in a multi-cultural environment.

Business trips across Europe with short notice may be required.
