Technical Product Lead, Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

Oxford Nanopore

Oxford Nanopore has developed a new generation of nanopore-based sensing technology for faster, information-rich, accessible and affordable molecular analysis. The technology is used to understand and characterise the biology of humans, animals, plants, bacteria, viruses, and diseases such as cancer. By enabling biological insights, we strive to improve life on Earth and beyond.

The Role

We are seeking a Technical Product Lead to take ownership of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES), supporting the manufacture of our sequencing products.

This role will be responsible for the technical integration, operational effectiveness, compliance, and technical coherence of our newly commissioned MES SaaS platform, NoMuda VisualFactory.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Platform Owner, you will work closely with our in-house development teams responsible for bespoke systems supporting tracking, traceability, and control across complex manufacturing processes.

The MES platform is central to our digital manufacturing strategy, enabling manufacturing process engineers to safely and consistently self-configure workflows while ensuring compliance with GAMP standards and seamless integration with internal systems.

You will collaborate closely with NoMuda implementation and support teams, internal software engineering teams, manufacturing process engineers across Production and Tech Transfer, and Quality, Validation, and Regulatory stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

MES Ownership & Operations

  • Drive an effective, coherent integration between existing manufacturing systems and the new MES, NoMuda Visual Factory
  • Own the operation and lifecycle management of the NoMuda VisualFactory MES platform
  • Ensure platform availability, performance, security, and data integrity of the MES
  • Ensure operational processes, including support, incident management, change control, and release coordination, conforms to ONT's internal processes
  • Act as the primary technical owner for incidents and enhancements for VisualFactory, and engagement with NoMuda

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
