Technical Product Manager (Data): Contract | Up to £550/day Outside IR35 | Hybrid, London | 6 months initial

A major consumer business is seeking a contract Technical Product Manager to sit across its growth data team. The function is part way through a significant data transformation and demand from the wider business is running ahead of what the team can currently deliver. The team is small and senior, and the delivery process is still being shaped.

As a Technical Product Manager, you'd sit between the VP leading the function and the data scientists doing the work, owning prioritisation and delivery across activation use cases, forecasting, pricing and reporting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

With the process still being defined, there's real scope to shape how growth data work gets scoped, sequenced and shipped going forward.

As a contract Technical Product Manager you'll be competent in:

  • Owning a roadmap over a data science or analytics team, from intake through to production delivery
  • Working around and within a modern data stack (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, Python and SQL, Power BI), enough to hold the conversation and challenge estimates without writing the code yourself
  • Taking data products from proof of concept into something the business uses week to week
  • Building partnerships across marketing, commercial and finance, and having the confidence to say no
  • Working in growth: customer segmentation, activation, demand forecasting and pricing
  • Experience in an environment mid transformation, where standards are still being written, is an excellent advantage.
