Technical Product Manager x2 - Remote (Must be already based in NI)
If you are a Product Owner who is comfortable working closely with engineers, understanding technical trade-offs and taking ownership of complex software work, this could be worth a look. We are working with a growing US technology business that is continuing to build out its Northern Ireland operation.
They are now hiring their first Product Owner in NI, giving this person the opportunity to help shape how product and engineering work together locally as the team grows.
The role
This is a hands-on Technical Product Owner position working closely with software engineers, product stakeholders and the wider business. You will take ownership of technical initiatives from initial discovery through to delivery, helping define requirements, prioritise work and ensure engineering teams have the context they need to make good technical decisions.
This role will suit someone who is comfortable getting into the detail rather than simply managing a backlog.

You will have the opportunity to:
- Be the first Product Owner within the Northern Ireland team
- Own technically complex product initiatives from discovery through to delivery
- Work directly with experienced software engineers and product stakeholders
- Influence how technical requirements are shaped and prioritised
- Help establish strong product practices as the local team grows
- Take ownership rather than simply facilitate ceremonies or manage tickets
What you'll be doing
- Work with engineering and business stakeholders to understand problems, requirements and technical constraints
- Translate complex requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and deliverable work
- Own and prioritise the product backlog
- Work closely with engineers during discovery, design and delivery
- Help engineering teams understand the commercial and customer context behind technical work
- Coordinate dependencies across different technical and business teams
- Support roadmap planning and prioritisation
- Identify risks, blockers and trade-offs early and help drive decisions
- Ensure delivered functionality meets the agreed requirements and intended outcomes
- Help establish and improve product processes as the Northern Ireland team grows

What they're looking for
Must have:
- Experience working as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner or in a similar product role within a software environment
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams
- Ability to understand technical concepts and discuss APIs, integrations, architecture or software systems with engineers
- Strong requirements gathering and backlog management experience
- Experience taking work from discovery and definition through to delivery
- Comfortable working across both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication
Nice to have:
- Previous experience working within a SaaS or technology product environment
- Experience with APIs, integrations or technically complex software products
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure or modern software architecture
- Experience working with distributed or remote engineering teams
- Background in software engineering, business analysis or another technical discipline
- Experience joining a growing team where processes are still being established
