Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor. We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders.

We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.

Who we are

We are one of Europe’s largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets.

Asset Management is a critical driver of our Group strategy. The business aims to work synergistically with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers, and deliver enhanced shareholder returns.

Our investment philosophy and processes are focused on creating value over the long term. We believe that incorporating financially material sustainability criteria, when relevant to our clients, can create value and drive positive change.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to help shape the strategic direction of our Investments technology platform. Working closely with investment and technology teams, you’ll translate front-office needs into valuable product solutions, prioritise the platform roadmap and support the successful delivery of products and features across multiple investment desks.

This is an opportunity to combine your investment management knowledge, technical understanding and product expertise to influence strategic decisions, solve complex business challenges and explore how emerging technologies, including AI, can improve investment capabilities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Translating business outcomes, user needs and strategic priorities into a clear roadmap that maximises value and supports the wider Investments platform vision
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to define requirements, shape solution designs and agree the target end state
  • Prioritising the platform backlog and clearly communicating the outcomes, value and trade-offs associated with product decisions
  • Collaborating with portfolio managers, traders, research, operations and technology teams to identify opportunities and solve business problems
  • Guiding cross-functional product teams through design discussions, delivery decisions and day-to-day prioritisation
  • Defining minimum viable products and ensuring each release delivers measurable business value
  • Promoting reusable platform capabilities that reduce duplication, improve consistency and accelerate future delivery
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation through modern product practices, emerging technologies and AI-enabled capabilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
