The Role

Be the planner in the room — review generated programmes as you would a contractor's submission, find what's wrong, and turn that into product and model improvements. Own the squad's quarter: plan it, reconcile it against unplanned work, and deliver it, with genuine authority to make trade-offs. Build, not just brief: write clear specs, prompt agents, and review and edit generated output rather than handing over. Design and ship planning agents — what they should do, what they must never do, and where the planner stays in the loop. Run structured evaluations, defining what a good schedule looks like in measurable terms and proving every change against it. Run user and buyer research with planning managers, project controls leads and programme directors. Lead contributors, not a process, coordinating dependencies across squads.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

Five-plus years as a planner or scheduler on major construction or infrastructure projects — building, maintaining and defending programmes that were contractually and commercially live. Deep fluency in Primavera P6 (Asta, MSP or TILOS a bonus): logic, calendars, constraints, baselines, WBS and coding structures. A clear point of view on schedule quality, and the experience of arguing about float and holding your ground. You already build with AI daily, and want to go further — to prototypes and working code you review and edit. Judgment over process: you can cut to what planners and their clients actually need and make the right call through understanding trade-offs. Fluent with data, and excited by defining schedule quality in a way that can be measured at scale. Sharp communication with engineers, planning managers and programme directors alike.

Nice to Have

Product experience of any kind, or experience building planning tooling or automation for a team. Experience with data science, machine learning or probabilistic risk analysis (QSRA/QCRA). Experience across client and contractor sides or multiple sectors (rail, energy, nuclear, water, buildings, oil and gas). Knowledge of contract programme requirements under NEC, JCT or FIDIC. A formal technical background.

This could suit an experienced planner who wants to shape the tool rather than one project, or a scheduler who has already started building their own automation.
