Technical Product Manager

Sector: Sports Betting & Prediction Markets

About Sporting Risk

Sporting Risk combines proprietary models with cutting-edge technology to turn sporting data into a decisive market edge, for operators who need to price, trade and grow with confidence.

Our portfolio runs on two complementary product lines built on the same modelling and technology core. Our Odds Services deliver market-leading pricing across core markets, player, team and match props, promotional markets and micros, powered by proprietary models with automated trading. Our Technology Services deliver a low-latency BetBuilder API, AI trading tools, risk management, statistical widgets and a trading console. We cover soccer (137 competitions), basketball (34) and ice hockey (29), and partner with operators including Entain, Sportradar, Pragmatic Play, BetConstruct, Betfred and BoyleSports.

Everything we do rests on three principles: proprietary modelling built by our in-house quants and pricing analysts; low-latency, technology-driven infrastructure with AI built into its end-to-end workflow; and operational excellence through agile, disciplined execution. Find out more at sportingrisk.com.

The role

The Product Manager leads the technical delivery of the Sporting Risk product roadmap, from first specification through to live delivery with our clients, and makes sure client feedback shapes what we build next.

This is a hands-on leadership role at the centre of our technical departments. Working closely with the CTO, you will lead day-to-day delivery across data engineering and data science, turning roadmap priorities into products that are accurate, fast and dependable. You are also the bridge between those teams and our clients, so that what we build reflects what operators need.

The role needs a strong character. You will hold technical teams to scope, quality and deadlines, challenge estimates and approaches, and push back on clients when a request doesn't fit the product. You will also be a builder yourself: comfortable in code, and able to use AI to prototype and bring products to life quickly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key responsibilities

Leading technical delivery of the roadmap

  • Lead the technical delivery of the product roadmap across Odds Services and Technology Services, in partnership with the CTO.
  • Translate roadmap priorities and commercial opportunities into clear specifications, with defined scope, acceptance criteria and success measures.
  • Lead the delivery cycle day to day: sprint planning, backlog, stand-ups and release sign-off.
  • Make sure every release is tested, documented and supportable before it reaches a client.

Leading the technical departments

  • Work with the CTO to lead and coordinate data engineering and data science, keeping their work aligned to roadmap priorities.
  • Hold teams to agreed scope, quality and timelines, and escalate early when delivery is at risk.
  • Challenge estimates and technical approaches with a hands-on understanding of our models, data pipelines and APIs.
  • Prototype new features and tools yourself, using code and AI, to test ideas before committing team resource.
  • Drive the use of AI across the delivery workflow to speed up build, testing and iteration.

Client delivery

  • Lead the handover from build to client: integration support, onboarding, documentation and go-live.
  • Represent the technical side of our products in client meetings, explaining how they work and what is coming.
  • Work with client services to resolve product issues fast and stop them recurring.

The client feedback loop

  • Lead a structured process for gathering client feedback, feature requests and new product ideas.
  • Assess each request on client value, commercial impact, number of clients affected and build cost.
  • Bring the results into roadmap planning with the CEO and CTO, then close the loop by telling clients what we will build, when, and what we won't.
  • Track product performance after launch and use it to shape the next iteration.

What we're looking for

Experience

  • 4+ years in product management, delivery or a similar role leading products from build to client delivery.
  • A track record of shipping B2B or data-driven products to external clients.
  • Experience leading technical delivery across engineering, data engineering or data science teams in an agile environment.

Technical background

  • Hands-on coding experience: you have built and shipped software yourself, ideally in Python, and are comfortable with SQL.
  • A proven ability to bring products to life using AI, whether prototyping, building internal tools or automating workflows with AI coding assistants and models.
  • Comfortable with APIs, data pipelines and low-latency systems; able to read a technical spec and challenge it.
  • An understanding of probability and pricing models is a strong plus.

Character

  • Confident and direct: you hold engineers and clients to commitments and to account.
