Technical Program Manager
As a Technical Program Manager at Marqeta, you will be responsible for leading technical workstreams or initiatives, coordinating work across engineering teams to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
The Product Operations and Technical Program Management team operates as an integral component of the Strategy and Operations organisation within the Product organisation.
We specialise in facilitating and orchestrating Product and Engineering teams and strategic initiatives that encompass our platform, product portfolio, and new innovations for our customers. Our team functions as the essential connective tissue between engineering, product, TechAI, go-to-market, and customer-facing teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and aligned execution across these critical organisational functions.
This role can be performed remotely within the UK or from our London, Holborn office. We’d love for you to join us!
The Impact You’ll Have
- Drive technical projects from concept to completion, managing scope, schedule, and resources
- Identify dependencies, risks, and issues; develop mitigation strategies
- Facilitate communication between engineering, product, design, and business teams
- Lead technical planning, estimation, and prioritization sessions
- Document technical decisions and ensure alignment across stakeholders
- Provide regular status updates to leadership and remove obstacles for engineering teams
- Balance technical tradeoffs with business requirements and timelines
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 3+ years of technical program/project management experience
- Strong understanding of relevant technologies, software development methodologies and processes (S-SDLC)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and development practices
- Ability to understand complex technical systems and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
