About Vantage Data Centers Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands. Product Department The Product team at Vantage defines and stewards our global product platform: the customer outcomes we aim to deliver, the reference designs and standards that make delivery repeatable, and the closed-loop learning that turns each deployment into an upgrade for the next. We do this in partnership with Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Sustainability, Sales, Site Selection, and Business Development, aligning priorities and trade-offs while preserving clear functional ownership for design execution, construction delivery, and site operations. Product’s role is to create clarity, consistency, and leverage at Vantage scale. Position Overview Vantage is building a platform-led Product organisation to enable repeatable, predictable, faster delivery of data centres through disciplined standardisation, governed variants, and closed-loop learning. The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is an execution and enablement leader within Product Operations, responsible for running cross-functional programs that strengthen how the Product organisation ships and scales. Reporting to the Principal TPM, this role helps build and operate the mechanisms that allow teams to execute at speed without chaos: readiness gates, dependency management, decision hygiene, and closed-loop learning. This is not a construction project manager role and does not replace Delivery or regional execution. It enables the platform Product organisation by ensuring programs have clear scope, owners, decision paths, evidence expectations, and measurable outcomes. What you’ll do Own one or more cross-cutting Product programs end-to-end (definition, planning, execution, rollout, retrospective), coordinating across Product Management, Industrialised Delivery, Engineering, Deployment, Delivery, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and vendors. Build and maintain clear execution plans with milestones, interlocks, risks, and measurable outcomes; ensure owners and decision deadlines are explicit. Operate readiness checklists and go/no-go gates for releases or rollouts within your program scope; ensure required artefacts and evidence are produced, reviewed, and stored. Identify cross-team dependencies early; create clarity on interfaces, owners, and acceptance criteria, and maintain an active risk register with structured escalations. Run structured retrospectives and lessons-learned capture; ensure outputs become actionable inputs to Product Managers and platform governance, with traceability from issue/deviation to decision and update. Use and improve standard templates (program one-pagers, decision memos, readiness checklists, release notes, risk registers) and partner on tooling and dashboards to increase visibility and decision hygiene. Operate as a high-trust partner to Product Managers and engineering leaders: bring structure, not bureaucracy; accelerate outcomes without taking ownership away from empowered teams. What success looks like Programs ship with clear scope, explicit trade-offs, and reduced cross-functional thrash. Readiness and go/no-go discipline is consistently applied, with required artefacts and evidence produced as a default part of delivery. Dependencies and risks are identified early; issues are resolved through defined paths rather than late escalations. Field signals from deployment, commissioning, and operations are captured with structure and converted into actionable platform inputs with owners, priorities, and decision trail. Stakeholders trust the mechanisms: forums are effective, artefacts are lightweight and decision-ready, and the system continues to run well after launch. What we’re looking for 6–10+ years in technical program management or equivalent technical delivery leadership in complex, scaled environments (data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, industrial automation, cloud infrastructure, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or similar). Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional programs with real technical depth and operational consequences (schedule, quality, reliability, safety). Strong technical fluency in data centre systems and lifecycle realities (power, cooling, controls/telemetry, commissioning, handover, supplier ecosystem). Strong written and verbal communication; capable of producing crisp decision memos and driving alignment without consensus. Preferred Experience building or operating readiness gates and go/no-go processes for complex system rollouts. Experience with lessons-learned systems and closed-loop feedback in deployment, commissioning, or operations contexts. #LI-FW1 #LI-Hybrid We operate with No Ego and No Arrogance. We work to build each other up and support one another, appreciating each other’s strengths and respecting each other’s weaknesses. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
