Technical Programme Manager – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)

Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 + Bonus / Benefits

About Our Client

Our client is a major UK organisation undertaking a multi-year technology transformation programme spanning cloud, applications, data and digital services. They are looking for a senior Technical Programme Manager to lead several interconnected technology workstreams.

The Role

You will take ownership of complex technology delivery involving multiple engineering teams, suppliers and business stakeholders. You will establish programme governance, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure major technical initiatives are delivered against agreed outcomes, budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology programmes.
  • Coordinate multiple engineering, infrastructure, data and product workstreams.
  • Own programme plans, dependencies, budgets, risks and governance.
  • Work closely with senior technology leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Manage third-party technology suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Identify delivery risks and drive effective mitigation plans.
  • Provide clear programme reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Improve delivery processes and establish consistent programme standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience delivering large technology or digital programmes.
  • Background in software, cloud, infrastructure, data or enterprise technology transformation.
  • Experience managing multi-team programmes and complex dependencies.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and traditional programme delivery approaches.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder and supplier management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness, budgeting and risk-management capability.
  • PMP, MSP, PRINCE2 or Agile certifications are advantageous but not essential.
