Role Overview
A leading engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead and deliver complex engineering programmes within a highly technical environment. This role involves full lifecycle programme leadership, including defining scope, managing delivery, and ensuring technical excellence across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
You will be responsible for guiding integrated project teams working on advanced engineering projects, including concept development, systems engineering, mechanical design, analysis, testing, and final delivery of engineered solutions such as aerospace test rigs.
Responsibilities - Programme Manager
- Lead and manage engineering programmes covering budget, schedule, scope, and risk.
- Collaborate with customers to define requirements, resolve technical queries, and agree programme scope.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and customers.
- Take ownership of programme delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and timelines.
- Lead integrated project teams and resolve issues as they arise.
- Oversee engineering activities including concept studies, design, analysis, modelling, and commissioning.
- Ensure technical accuracy through collaboration with technical leads.
- Deliver internal and customer-facing technical and programme presentations.
- Use Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor programme cost and progress.
- Contribute to bid and proposal development for future programmes.

Requirements - Programme Manager
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in Programme or Project Management, including:
- Budget and cost control
- Schedule management
- Earned Value Management
- Bid and proposal support
- Background in engineering environments, ideally with exposure to turbomachinery or similar complex systems.
- Prior experience in hands-on engineering roles (e.g. design) is desirable.
- Strong understanding of test rig engineering methodologies and practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and deliver presentations to varied audiences.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex scopes of work.
