Technical Project Manager

Department: Information Technology
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: London
Reporting To: James Andrew

Description

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Technical Project Manager to join our IT team and play a key role in delivering technology projects that support the firm's continued success. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of technology and business change initiatives, working closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and external suppliers to implement solutions that improve the way our people work.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project professional who enjoys taking ownership, driving outcomes, and making a tangible impact across an organisation. You'll be involved in projects spanning areas such as Microsoft 365, cloud services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business applications, and digital transformation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Role

  • Provide line management to a BA and matrix management across cross-functional teams, with responsibility for setting priorities, guiding performance, and supporting delivery where direct reporting lines may not apply.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables, working hand in hand with business owners and taking accountability for scope, commercials, stakeholder engagement, risks, and successful business outcomes.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests, ensuring appropriate mitigation and escalation where required.
  • Provide clear project governance, reporting, and communication to stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party suppliers to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
  • Drive business readiness, change management, and user adoption activities to support successful implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Continuously improve project delivery practices, standards, and governance across the IT function.
  • Manage application integration and escalate issues with support partners.
  • Research solutions and proposals for the delivery of new initiatives.
  • Awareness of current market trends and solutions to align with business requirements.
  • Working with the wider department to deliver IT continuous improvement.
  • Developing project plans, goals, and budgets; identifying resources needed.
  • Coordinate technical activity across internal teams and suppliers, ensuring work is completed in line with agreed project plans.
  • Preparing requests for proposals and conducting all necessary meetings to facilitate selection of project services and products.
  • Planning and overseeing the preparation and dissemination of project communications.
  • Support supplier selection, procurement activity, and commercial discussions where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
