Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Top 3 Skills Needed

  • 2-4+ years’ experience, it’s a junior to mid-level position.
  • Technical Expertise (Research & LLMs): Candidates must possess a level of technical background—such as a background in research engineering, a Masters/PhD in Machine Learning, or direct experience with LLMs—to effectively support researchers. While the role does not involve direct coding, having a technical mindset is considered "beyond anything else" in importance.
  • Relationship Building: The ability to form strong working relationships is the "first thing" required for success. The role involves navigating complex dynamics between diverse stakeholders, including senior staff who may view project management as "overhead" and junior team members who rely heavily on this operational support.
  • High-Pace Adaptability: Candidates must be excited about the role and the reality of the high-velocity, fast-moving research environment. They need to be comfortable with the fast pace, where the opportunity cost of "dropping the ball" is significant, and be a strong cultural fit for the team's research-centric dynamic.
