Due to growing company developments, we now looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our small but mighty agency based in Salford Quays, just outside Manchester city centre. As an agency with a full technical production department, we bring together creative thinking and technical expertise to deliver projects from concept through to completion.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Department, you’ll work in our events team specifically part of the technical production division on a variety of exciting event projects for renowned corporate brands.
You’ll be responsible for bringing production briefs together and managing projects from initial enquiry through to delivery. This includes understanding client requirements, preparing quotations, obtaining supplier costs, managing detailed budgets, contracting suppliers, and coordinating crew and logistics.
Working with all departments, you’ll also help shape designs and technical solutions to ensure they meet the purpose of the event and can be delivered within the available budget.

The ideal candidate will be customer focused, commercially minded, confident coordinating teams and suppliers, and have a solid understanding of live event production technologies. Experience across all production disciplines would be an advantage, but we will also consider candidates with strengths in multiple areas.
This role could suit an experienced technician ready to progress into project management who can demonstrate the required planning and commercial skills, or an existing project manager seeking a new challenge.
You’ll often work on several projects at the same time, so you must be highly organised, comfortable working to tight deadlines and accurate in your attention to detail. You’ll thrive in a hands on environment and work well under pressure.

Key responsibilities
- Develop initial enquiries into clear production briefs, identifying client objectives, technical requirements, budgets and timescales
- Manage production projects of varying sizes from initial brief through planning, delivery and completion
- Prepare client quotations and proposals, obtaining supplier prices and building detailed project costings
- Manage budgets throughout each project, keeping costs accurate and up to date and identifying the impact of any changes.
- Contribute creative ideas and influence designs and technical solutions to suit the project’s purpose and budget
- Source and coordinate event suppliers, agree costs and manage supplier contracting
- Plan and coordinate crew and freelancers, providing clear briefs, schedules and responsibilities
- Manage production logistics, including equipment, transport, travel, accommodation and venue arrangements as required
- Maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues, venues, suppliers and other third parties
- Work alongside our production team to oversee onsite delivery at venues across the UK

Requirements
- A minimum of ‘five years’ experience gained within the events or live production industry
- Strong knowledge of live event production and relevant technical equipment and software
- Experience across all production disciplines would be an advantage; strengths in multiple disciplines will also be considered
- The ability to turn an enquiry into a clear, practical and fully costed production brief or proposal
- Ideally but not essential, Experience in preparing quotations and proposals, assessing supplier costs and managing detailed budgets
- Experience managing clients, event suppliers, freelancers and other third parties
- Strong planning skills, including coordinating crew and production logistics
- A creative, practical mindset, with the ability to develop solutions that meet client needs and budgets
- Onsite management and support to the extended events team
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking direction and feedback effectively
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage several projects to tight deadlines
- CAD experience is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided
- Flexibility to work at venues across the UK according to project requirements.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is essential
