Technical Project Manager – AI Research

Location: King’s Cross, London – 3 days onsite per week

Contract: 12 months

Start date: As soon as possible

Hours: 40 hours per week

Rate: £36 PAYE per hour

Interview process: Three stages

About the role

We are recruiting for a Technical Project Manager to join the AI Research division of a leading global technology company.

This role will support a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers working on advanced artificial intelligence projects. You will act as the central point of coordination across multiple workstreams, helping to structure projects, track progress, manage risks and remove blockers.

This is not a coding or hands-on research position, but you will need enough technical understanding of AI and machine learning to work effectively with research and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects and workstreams across research, engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and mitigations.
  • Communicate research plans, progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear project plans and timelines.
  • Maintain project trackers, Gantt-style plans and status reporting.
  • Identify blockers and coordinate actions to keep projects moving.
  • Support researchers with milestone planning, project documentation and reporting.
  • Help manage team capacity and resources, including technical infrastructure and GPU requirements.
  • Work with legal, communications, policy and risk teams to progress reviews and approvals.
  • Coordinate data-use reviews for new benchmarks and support open-source activity.
  • Analyse information and translate it into recommendations and actions.
  • Provide onsite support to triage fast-moving issues affecting the London team.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders, researchers, engineers and junior team members.
  • Help create structure and clarity in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
