My client, a leading high frequency trading firm, is seeking a Technical Manager to join their London team.
This is a rare opportunity to own the build-out of the tooling that underpins a live electronic trading environment. Sitting close to the trading floor, you will lead the design and delivery of capabilities across live trading monitoring, trading limits, and electronic trading controls - shaping how these are standardised and applied consistently across every trading system and platform in the firm. It is a genuinely high-visibility mandate with real influence over how the business trades day to day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will work hand in hand with Production Trading Services as your key business stakeholder, alongside Trading and Technology, giving you a broad view of the trading stack and direct access to the people who use what you build. The remit is hands-on, technically demanding and varied for a delivery role.
The ideal candidate will combine strong end-to-end technical programme delivery with applied knowledge of electronic trading. Experience in high-frequency, low-latency, systematic or complex trading environments is particularly attractive, as is a track record of delivering trading technology, tooling or platform initiatives.
