We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong hands-on IT infrastructure background to join a global pharmaceutical research environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically focused project professional who enjoys combining project leadership with practical technical delivery.
In this role, you will lead the deployment, upgrade, and lifecycle management of scientific systems and platforms, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver critical technology projects from initiation through to go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical projects across scientific and laboratory environments.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
- Perform hands-on application installations, configurations, and upgrades on servers and workstations.
- Oversee system lifecycle activities including upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning.
- Bridge the gap between technical IT teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop project plans, monitor progress, and proactively mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance and security requirements are met through collaboration with relevant teams.
- Produce technical reports and validate data using PowerShell scripting and LDAP queries.
- Maintain system documentation and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 8 years' experience in IT infrastructure, systems integration, or a related technical environment.
- At least 3 years' project management experience delivering technology-focused projects.
- Strong understanding of server-based applications, infrastructure, and system deployments.
- Experience working within scientific, laboratory, research, or highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
- Proficient in stakeholder management and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and LDAP queries.
- HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
