About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Quality Front Line Manager to join our Technical Team at Fletchers Bakeries which forms part of our Northern Cluster.

Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a but a few.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Front Line Manager will act as the first point of contact within the Technical function, working closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards. You will carry out routine quality assurance testing and process monitoring, ensuring accurate feedback is provided to management teams and that all products comply with agreed specifications.

You will participate in GMP and other relevant audits, record checks as outlined in the Quality Manual, and take prompt action to address any non-conformances, supporting the continuous improvement of site standards.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Take ownership of food safety and quality performance on site, managing incidents, concessions, and non-compliances as they arise.
  • Lead investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure full resolution to maintain compliance and customer confidence.
  • Conduct regular internal audits covering hygiene, GMP, allergen management, documentation, and CCPs - following up on actions to ensure they’re completed on time.
  • Lead traceability exercises, confidently presenting findings during customer and third-party audits.
  • Carry out environmental and product testing (micro, allergen, nutritional, aW, pH, etc.) and report results accurately.
  • Manage calibration and verification processes for scales, probes, and temperature controls.
  • Oversee retained sample stock, daily product quality evaluations, and end-of-life checks.
  • Investigate customer complaints to root cause and upload corrective actions via Qadex.
  • Support export processes, liaising with the supply chain and site veterinary teams.
  • Maintain BRC certification, customer codes of practice, and the site Quality Management System.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Hygiene, and Supply Chain to identify opportunities for improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
