Technical & Quality Manager

On-Site | Monday to Friday | Full Time

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical & Quality Manager to join the leadership team of a successful manufacturing business. You’ll lead the technical function, with responsibility for food safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing operation. This is a key leadership position, working closely with Operations, Engineering, NPD and Commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the technical and quality function
  • Maintain HACCP, Quality Management Systems and food safety standards
  • Manage customer, regulatory and third-party audits
  • Investigate complaints, non-conformances and quality issues, driving effective root cause analysis
  • Develop technical KPIs and use data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support new product development and process improvement projects
  • Oversee hygiene, pest control and technical compliance
  • Manage the technical budget and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Build a strong culture of accountability, development and continuous improvement

About You. Ideally, you will have:

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
  • Level 4 HACCP and Lead Auditor qualifications
  • Significant Technical, Quality or Food Safety experience within food manufacturing/FMCG
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and food safety legislation
  • Experience leading audits and technical teams
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Commercial awareness and budget management experience
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach
