Knowledge And Qualifications

Qualified Accountant with at least three to five years of insurance industry experience.

Skills And Demonstrated Experience

  • Should have either handled or played a significant role in the technical close of a general insurer.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 methodologies and reporting requirements.
  • Direct experience in IFRS 17 implementation or BAU reporting.
  • Good analytical and MI reporting skills.
  • Ability to apply process improvement.
  • Strong communication with stakeholders and external auditors and ability to co-ordinate tasks between internal teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Sum ifs, pivot tables, v look ups).
  • High degree of organisation, task planning and time management.
  • Strong Insurance Technical Knowledge.

My Role

Provides high-quality management and financial reporting for the Antares at Lloyd’s Entity and support process improvement.

The close process runs from the point of data capture into our core accounts close model, followed by the execution of accounting processes, review and interaction with the Actuarial function and finishes once the submission is made and queries cleared. Other than core reporting key deliverable for this role involves supporting and leading ongoing business-wide process and procedure improvement projects and system change, relating to core financial reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ownership of IFRS 17, IFRS 4 and UK GAAP Technical Close Process.
  • Responsible for preparation and production of IFRS 17 and IFRS 4 technical result on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide accurate and timely management and financial information, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local reporting requirements.
  • Quarterly IFRS 17, IFRS 4 and UK GAAP Closing pack production for Group Reporting.
  • Perform analysis of movements in IFRS 17 balances and explain key drivers of financial performance.
  • Assist the team with external audit matters.
  • Assist with the population of technical memorandums.
  • Ad hoc tasks when required.
