Research Manager for Iliad Fellowship
We’re seeking a Research Manager to greatly own the planning, execution, and evaluation of the ongoing Iliad Fellowship.
The Iliad Fellowship is a recurring three-month mentored research program for applied math for AI alignment research. Every fellow will have a dedicated research mentor; the research manager will work to orchestrate events, oversee Fellows' progress about their research progress and issues, and generally ensure that the Fellowship is proceeding smoothly, resolving problems as they come up.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking someone with strong initiative. You should be proactive and take ownership of your responsibilities, while keeping in mind that you report to leadership who are ultimately accountable for the program.
Time Commitment & Structure
This is a full-time, indefinite position. Individual fellowship cohorts are 3 months long. The program operates on a quarterly basis (definitely) with additional monthly intakes (tentative).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
