Role and Responsibilities:

As a Technical Sales Advisor, you will deliver high‑quality technical and commercial support to new and existing customers. The role involves understanding customer requirements, providing practical technical advice, and recommending suitable hydraulic, industrial, or engineering solutions. You will be responsible for sourcing products to specification, processing orders, and maintaining clear, professional communication throughout the sales process. A strong focus on customer service, organisation, and identifying opportunities to add value is essential in this fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handle customer enquiries efficiently via phone, email, website, and live chat.
  • Process customer orders, quotations, and enquiries accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Provide technical advice and recommend products that meet customer specifications.
  • Upsell and cross‑sell related products to maximise sales opportunities and meet KPIs.
  • Manage key and existing accounts, encouraging repeat business while acquiring new customers.
  • Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM system and proactively follow up quotations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely order fulfilment.
  • Support e‑commerce and web chat functions to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide customer feedback to support continuous improvement and carry out additional duties as required.

Essential Experience

What we’re looking for

  • Outstanding customer service skills with a professional and proactive approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively
  • Highly organised with solid administrative skills and strong attention to detail
  • Resilient, positive, and numerate, with the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Able to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced environment
  • IT literate, with confidence using MS Office, email, and online systems
  • Able to quickly understand technical information, identify customer issues, and provide suitable solutions

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within an engineering, hydraulics, pneumatics, or industrial environment
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced sales or customer‑facing office environment
  • Engineering or other relevant technical qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
