Our client is a specialist distributor of sensor technology, providing solutions across a range of industries and applications.
On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Sales & Business Development Engineer to generate new business, develop existing accounts, understand customer requirements, recommend suitable solutions and prepare quotations.
Package
- Basic salary £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Technical Sales & Business Development Engineer - Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland.
- Prospect for new customers and build relationships across relevant industries.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities for additional sales.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical sensing solutions.
- Sell sensors, transmitters and related products across a variety of applications.
- Visit prospective and existing customers and provide technical guidance throughout the sales process.
- Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to securing the business.
- Work with OEM customers requiring sensors and modules for incorporation into their own equipment.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to develop product knowledge and technical understanding.
- Travel internationally for supplier meetings and product training when required.

Technical Sales & Business Development Engineer - Requirements:
- Previous experience in technical sales, sales engineering, business development or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Experience selling technical products, equipment or solutions within a B2B environment.
- Proven ability to develop new business, generate sales opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
- Sensor or sensing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong understanding of customer requirements, with the ability to recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Confident communicating with customers at both technical and commercial levels.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a proactive and commercially minded approach to sales.
- Comfortable carrying out customer visits across the UK and Ireland.
- Willingness to travel internationally for supplier meetings and product training when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
